Our Topper Types
The two light, Wool Topper W4 and Cotton Topper B4 are usually already sufficient when it comes to creating a large, common lying surface and increasing the comfort level a bit because they gently relieve pressure.
The Horsehair Topper, made of fine horsehair organic cotton, has a very similar effect, but the powerful horsehair naturally has more weight-bearing capacity.
If you want to significantly increase comfort, for example, because your mattress is too thin and too firm, the Natural Latex Topper X5.

When does A Topper Really Help?
Ever since the mattress industry has been promoting the additional mattress topper as a remedy for poor sleepsleep, many costumers expect a topper to miraculously optimize their sleeping place. But a bad mattress does not become a good one by using a topper. And the thin additional topper, which usually accounts about ¼ of the volume, cannot compensate the lack of the actual mattress. If the main mattress is not stable enough or even already interspersed with hollows, the topper cannot compensate for this but can at best conceal it.
70% of the people in this country sleep on foam mattresses, of which more than 50% are insufficient to deficient. The deficiency expresses itself in two ways. The mattress is not stable enough, the person lying on it sinks in without support, and after a relatively short time, permanent hollows form. The materials of the mattress do not diffuse/condition and a sweaty bed climate is the result.
If you now place a topper of the same origin, usually filled with soft 5 cm foam and covered with poly-blabla on top of it, neither of the two problems will be solved. If you put on a hard topper made of the same or similar materials, the sweat remains, the hollow remains, only the unstable sinking in is improved. But if you put on a topper made of natural materials instead, the bad climate comes to an end and the unstable sinking in will also be improved, but the basic weakness of the mattress will remain, the hollow will remain and too little support in the total volume can only be compensated to a limited extent by the topper on the surface. So if you lie really badly on your mattress, please do not expect too much from the new topper, even if it is made of good material. In that case, it makes more sense to buy a new, decent mattress.
When is a topper useful?
A topper is useful if my mattress or futon is too hard so that the pressure is starting to affect me. Then the gentle, pressure-relieving effect of the topper is pleasant. A W4 / B4 is usually enough, an X5 creates new comfort. A topper is useful if my mattress is a bit too soft for me, without the surface showing hollows, just a bit too soft. Then the stability of a horsehair topper or even a wool topper has a pleasant balancing effect. A topper is useful if my mattress supports me well, but I want a distance to the synthetic material in order to harmonize the bed climate and neutralize the electrostatic charge. A cotton topper, a wool topper, or a horsehair topper is usually sufficient here as well.
